Community Manager

YOUR ROLE
As a Community Manager, your mission is to build and nurture a strong and passionate community of fans and players of PLAYERUNKNOWN Productions’ debut projects and beyond. You will be the voice of the player within the studio, in gathering vital feedback and insights that are fundamental for informing game development decisions and marketing strategies.   

You'll play a pivotal role in fostering a thriving community alongside the Publishing team and Brendan Greene (PLAYERUNKNOWN) for our debut projects and beyond, which will fundamentally rethink what’s possible when it comes to open world games. Your role is to be the bridge between our studio and the players, gathering invaluable feedback and insights crucial for shaping both game development decisions and marketing strategies.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up and manage a diverse range of online and offline community activities to build a long lasting and healthy community for PLAYERUNKNOWN Productions’ projects. 
  • Collaborate with the other members of the Publishing team to build engaging activities for our community such as progress reports, meta-games, discussions, feedback rounds & announcements.  
  • Monitor community activity and be the liaison between our studio and the community, bringing feedback from the community back into the team, driving our development forward. 
  • Create compelling assets for various social platforms, such as screenshots, call to actions, video clips and setting up community streams. 
  • Monitor and manage Community KPI’s, tracking progress and making adjustments as necessary to ensure community growth and engagement. 
YOUR PROFILE
  • Experience in Community management for gaming or other relevant entertainment industries. 
  • Deep understanding of gaming industry trends & customer behaviours.  
  • Ability to be one of the faces of the studio towards the community at online and offline events. 
  • Experience in crafting community plans and strategies from early stages, including platform selection and development. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience with game launches on various platforms, including Early Access releases and games with continuous development. 
  • Experience collaborating directly with C-level colleagues, digesting feedback and preparing plans for key stakeholders. 
  • Experience creating community facing assets, such as screenshots, video clips & more. 
  • Self-starter mentality with a passion for building and nurturing online communities. 
  • Passion for video games and a keen understanding of gaming culture 
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative and creative environment. 
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
  • Knowledge of community leaders, influencers and up to date with developments in social media marketing  
  • Experience working in a smaller scale studio where creativity and professionalism are fostered and appreciated. 
LOCATION
Hybrid (within The Netherlands), or fully remote within Europe.

PLAYERUNKNOWN Productions is an independent development studio based in Amsterdam, focused on creating massive sandbox worlds. MELBA Team is PLAYERUNKNOWN Productions’ applied research division. Project Melba is a new simulation engine being built from the ground up, utilizing data-driven design, multi-core processing and machine learning at its foundation in order to power virtual worlds on a scale beyond the capabilities of current technology.

Going Dutch
We go by the Dutch law and start with a 12-month contract with the intent to offer a permanent contract afterwards.

13th month salary
Enjoy a 13th month of salary at the end of the year for a little extra holiday money. If you haven’t been with us a full year, you’ll still get a pro-rata bonus based on how long you’ve been employed.

Flexible Schedule
You are free to work and hang out with us every day in our Amsterdam Studio. If you prefer to work from home, you can take advantage of three work-from-home days a week.

All you can eat
No need to worry about drinks, snacks, and lunch while in the studio.

Vacation
You will have 25 days off and 3 extra studio days off throughout the year. You can also celebrate your birthday with an extra day off!
